Two of the playoff qualifiers who are eliminated in the Wild Card round of the IFFL's Grand Bowl XIII playoffs will not see their Spring 2008 seasons end with the loss, as they will move on to an additional postseason game - the inaugural Cereal Bowl, which will be played on Saturday, April 26th.

In January, Capital Area Team Sports announced the return of postseason "bowl" games in the Independent Flag Football League.  While not playoff games, these five postseason games (the Banana Bowl, Cereal Bowl, Soup Bowl, Chili Bowl and Oak City Bowl) are aimed at providing ten of the IFFL's teams with an additional game to look forward to once the regular season has concluded.

The Banana Bowl and Cereal Bowl will serve as a postseason game for the four teams which qualified for the playoffs, but were unable to advance beyond the Wild Card round.
