While the two teams fall one game short of qualifying for our Grand Bowl XIII championship game may be disappointed that their season won't end with the team hoisting the Grand Bowl Cup, their Spring 2008 seasons will not end with the loss.  Each will move on to play an additional postseason game - the inaugural Chili Bowl, which will be played on Saturday, April 26th.

In January, Capital Area Team Sports announced the return of postseason "bowl" games in the Independent Flag Football League.  While not playoff games, these five postseason games (the Banana Bowl, Cereal Bowl, Soup Bowl, Chili Bowl and Oak City Bowl) are aimed at providing ten of the IFFL's teams with an additional game to look forward to once the regular season has concluded.

The Chili Bowl will serve as an unofficial "third place game" for those teams that advanced to the Divisional Playoff round but were unable to qualify for Grand Bowl XIII.
