While the finalists of the Independent Flag Football League's "Best of the Rest" event will advance to the Oak City Bowl, the losing clubs from the four-team tournament's first round will also get to participate in a postseason bowl game, the "Soup Bowl," to be held on Saturday, April 26.

In January, Capital Area Team Sports announced the return of postseason "bowl" games in the Independent Flag Football League.  While not playoff games, these five postseason games (the Banana Bowl, Cereal Bowl, Soup Bowl, Chili Bowl and Oak City Bowl) are aimed at providing ten of the IFFL's teams with an additional game to look forward to once the regular season has concluded.

The Oak City Bowl is the championship game of our "Best of the Rest" event, a four-team tournament for those teams that just miss qualifying for the league's playoffs, which will culminate with our championship game, Grand Bowl XIII.  The two teams that fail to qualify for the Oak City Bowl will instead qualify for the inaugural Soup Bowl, also to be played on April 26.
