INTRODUCING THE CATS CUP

With 2009 comes not only the debut of the CATS Golf Tour, but along with it an exciting season-long points competition called the CATS Cup.  Formally known as the "Capital Area Team Sports Championship Cup," this competition offers players a new competitive element to strive for during the course of each year's series of events.

The CATS Cup competition awards points to the top ten finishers (based on actual stroke play, without handicaps applied) in each CATS Golf Tour event based on the following formula:

2nd Place Finish
100 points
  7th Place Finish
30 points
3rd Place Finish
75 points
  8th Place Finish
20 points
4th Place Finish
60 points
  9th Place Finish
15 points
5th Place Finish
50 points
  10th Place Finish
10 points

Bonus points are also awarded for event participation (1 point per event), for each hole birdied (2 points) and for each eagle recorded (3 points).

The player accruing the most points at the conclusion of the 2009 CATS Golf Tour will receive the Capital Area Team Sports Championship Cup, emblematic of the seasonal championship of the CGT.
